Megan Rials is a writer, literary scholar, and poet who seeks to make the Gospel accessible through analyzing creative narratives and the ideas embodied in them.

She supplements her work with the rigorous scrutiny and reasoning from her legal training.

She serves as a regular contributor to Shadowlands Dispatch, a magazine of cultural apologetics that she helped found as its original Editor-in-Chief. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including Christ and Pop Culture, Fare Forward, Dappled Things, VoegelinView, The Worldview Bulletin Newsletter, and Mere Orthodoxy. Her first book chapter appears in Truth: Lectures from Defend the Faith 2025. She also posts cultural commentary, informal book/film/TV reviews, and musings on the challenges of dating life as a single, serious Christian at her personal Substack, Be Like the Fox.

Her research interests include the function of memory, narrative, and language in spiritual development, the work of the Inklings, current trends in fantasy literature, and legal/political theory issues of concern to believers (such as abortion, IVF, same-sex marriage, etc.).
